Over the past 20 years, Tom Wark has emerged as one of the most respected public relations professionals working in the wine industry, a prominent wine blogger, one of America’s most vocal advocates for the wine blogging medium and other new communications vehicles and a champion for free trade in wine.

Wark began his career in wine public relations in 1990. Since 1994 he has managed Wark Communications and provided a widely diverse set of clients with public and media relations services. Clients of Wark Communications have included small and medium sized wineries, publishers, associations, and wine technology firms.

In 1994, Wark published the American Wine Writer Survey, which has seen numerous updates including the most recent 2010 American Wine Writer Survey. He is the founder of the American Wine Blog Awards as well as one of the founders of the Wine Bloggers Conference. His FERMENTATION: The Daily Wine Blog is one the most widely read and respected wine blog in the world. He uses FERMENTATION to write on issue of the wine business, wine communications and public relations, the wine media and the politics of wine. Wark has been a frequent source for writers and journalists exploring these topics. In addition, Wark regularly appears at industry conferences as a panelist and moderator covering subjects as diverse as small winery marketing, blogging, social media and the politics of wine.
